In this story, Lilly, the orphaned daughter of hippie
nomads, is raised by a Sufi Sheikh in Morocco. As a teen
she travels to Ethiopia where she finds both love and her
true home. Later, as a white Muslim woman in London,
Lilly keeps her ties to Ethiopia by working and living
with Ethiopian refugees.
Written with the cultural insight of an anthropologist, this
book is an intelligent and heartfelt depiction of the
difficulties of exiled East African Muslims in Ethiopia.
A "Melody favorite."
