This book is being treated like some kind of
high-brow literature, but to me it was mostly
a great western adventure story. A fast
moving, high tension, travel adventure set
shortly before the Civil War. A slave catcher is
hired to one last journey deep into the north
to capture and bring back a couple runaway
slaves. Not only must he find them, he has to
get them back to the south without getting
himself killed or the slaves rescued by
northerners on the way. A very satisfying read
with interesting characters and really bad
bad-guys.
