| This was one of those situations where someone left a copy of this book for me to read and then left town. I knew as soon as they got back they would want to know how I liked it (like I wanted to read a thick novel about India!) Thinking I'd read a chapter or two and bail, I started it and immediately got sucked into the story. A fast-moving story about an escaped Australian convict trying to reinvent himself in the slums of India. It has excitement, romance, adventure, travel, prison ~ not a slow-reading book at all.
